1. Programme Purpose & Commercial Nature
MAITS GoodWorks is a specialised commercial service programme operated by MAITS Limited. It offers discounted, dependable technology, hosting, and digital maintenance services to eligible community and nonprofit organisations across New Zealand and Australia.
MAITS GoodWorks is a commercial initiative providing preferential pricing to support civil society; it is not a registered charity, donor trust, or fundraising vehicle.
2. Eligibility & Community Scope
Preferential GoodWorks pricing is available to organisations whose primary purpose serves community benefit, including:
- Registered charities (e.g. Charities Services NZ, Australian ACNC).
- Charitable trusts, community trusts, and incorporated societies.
- Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community welfare groups.
- Amateur sporting clubs, regional sporting associations, and recreational clubs.
- Cultural, arts, heritage, and language preservation organisations.
- Volunteer-led community groups and grassroots initiatives.
Registration status is requested for verification but does not constitute an automatic disqualification condition for legitimate community bodies. MAITS reserves the right to review eligibility upon renewal.
3. Subscription Packages & Inclusions
MAITS provides three monthly subscription tiers:
- GoodWorks Essential (NZ$49/mo / AU$49/mo excl GST): Includes managed website hosting for one eligible low-traffic website, TLS/SSL certificate lifecycle, automated daily backups, endpoint availability monitoring, infrastructure patching, and email-based technical support.
- GoodWorks Community (NZ$99/mo / AU$99/mo excl GST): Includes all Essential capabilities, plus routine CMS/plugin updates (WordPress and supported platforms), basic security oversight, domain/DNS record assistance, a monthly operational summary, and up to 30 minutes of eligible minor assistance per month.
- GoodWorks Partner (NZ$199/mo / AU$199/mo excl GST): Includes all Community capabilities, plus enhanced uptime monitoring, quarterly technology reviews, priority queue handling, and up to 60 minutes of eligible minor assistance per month.
4. Operational Hours & Response Targets
All support is delivered by senior technology practitioners during standard business hours:
Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm (NZST / AEST), excluding public holidays
Target initial response times within published hours are:
- GoodWorks Partner: Within 1 business day (priority queue).
- GoodWorks Community: Within 2 business days.
- GoodWorks Essential: Within 3 business days.
Important: GoodWorks subscriptions do not provide 24/7 human emergency standby, guaranteed sub-hour restoration SLAs, or custom enterprise disaster-recovery exercises unless separately contracted under an enterprise managed services agreement.
5. Ownership of Data, Content & Domains
You own your website. Your organisation retains complete, exclusive intellectual property ownership of all customer content, graphics, domain names, member databases, and copy.
MAITS will never hold your website or domain hostage. Should you decide to relocate your website or cancel your subscription, MAITS will provide an orderly export of your latest website archive and database without exit penalty fees.
6. Exclusions & Separately Quoted Work
To ensure affordability, subscriptions cover maintenance and hosting rather than open-ended bespoke development. The following services are excluded from base subscriptions:
- Domain name registration and renewal fees charged by registrars.
- Third-party paid plugin, theme, or SaaS software licenses.
- Substantial website redesigns, rebranding, or bespoke application engineering.
- Major emergency malware remediation resulting from unmaintained third-party legacy code prior to onboarding.
Where additional custom assistance is requested, eligible GoodWorks subscribers benefit from a preferential charity hourly rate of NZ$70/hr excl GST (AU$70/hr excl GST). All additional work requires explicit prior customer approval.
7. Billing, Invoicing & Cancellation
Subscriptions operate on a rolling monthly cycle.
- Taxes: New Zealand organisations are subject to 15% GST. Australian organisations are subject to 10% GST.
- Payment: Payment is processed via recurring credit card or approved automated bank transfer.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time prior to the commencement of your next monthly billing period with written notice to info@maits.co.nz. No cancellation termination penalties apply.
8. Onboarding & Activation Policy
Submitting a registration or checkout does not immediately activate website hosting. MAITS engineers perform a brief technical review to confirm DNS settings, platform compatibility, and backup integrity before switching live traffic. This protects your organisation from accidental website downtime.
9. Privacy & Data Governance
MAITS adheres strictly to the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Australian Privacy Act 1988. We never sell organisation data or contact details to third parties. For full details on our data retention and processing baselines, consult the MAITS Privacy Policy.
